Tambopata Jungle Explorer – Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick 2-Days

2 Days / 1 Night

Overview

Your flight to Puerto Maldonado will offer you a panoramic view of the winding Madre de Dios River and the lush canopy of jungle trees that characterize the southern Amazon basin. Visit the Tambopata National Reserve and its stunning biodiversity of wildlife and plants; this protected area still has indigenous tribes who do not communicate with outsiders. In the untamed rainforest outside Puerto Maldonado, your private cabana at the charming Collpa Chuncho Suites (Guacamayo means macaw in English) will be a comfortable haven that also brings you close to nature. Enjoy fresh, local meals at the restaurant in between guided excursions to sites such as Chuncho Collpa de Guacamayo (Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick), where large concentrations of macaws and parrots are easily visible. Travel by motorboat as you watch the sunrise and try to spot birds, capybaras, caimans, tapirs, and, with luck, jaguars by the riverbank. Encounter unusual insects, incredibly large trees, and perhaps some monkeys along the shaded jungle trail. After your excursion, relax at Collpa Chuncho Suites with a cocktail from the bar while listening to the sounds of the lively wildlife around you.

Domestic and international flights are not included in tour packages. The Amazon jungle tour includes the hotel, an English-speaking guide, transportation, tickets for Tambopata National Reserve, and all meals. Tours in other languages are available upon request.
